I've been an EFL teacher in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, since 1987, teaching mainly adults at all levels of language proficiency. I taught at the Cultura Inglesa (the British-Brazilian Cultural Institute) for 12 years, where I also worked as the self-access centre coordinator. I now teach adults privately and in companies, and that has made me look for new ways of getting students to interact and work together, even when they are physically apart.
The EVO2007 sessions and the fantastic communities I encountered there were crucial in providing me the support and 'courage' to start blogging with my students on a more regular basis, and my life hasn't been the same since then. Our first blog can be found at http://projectplatypus2.blogspot.com
I have a degree in Journalism from UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais) and I also specialized in Education and Technology. I am currently studying for my master's degree in Applied Linguistics, and my project aims to investigate the use of online tools to facilitate and enhance collaborative writing among upper-intermediate/advanced students.
