We kick off the webcast with a 'Red Carpet Ceremony' & 'Welcome Reception Webcast'. Aside from touring the venues, and doing system checks, we hope to speak with as many participants as possible.

This panel explores CMC with reflections of panel members’ experiences in CMC. Issues such as the potential and recent development of CMC, the use of synchronous conferencing tools, blogs and wikis, the development of a generic module for training online tutors, and CMC in language teacher education and professional development will be discussed.

There is a growing interest in engaging today's learners, the so-called
digital natives (Prensky, 2001) through the use of computer games. In
this session, we will be taking a look at the reasons for doing so, as
well as looking at a range of computer games that can be used for
language learning, both inside the classroom and out.

Writingmatrix is a worldwide collaboration project involving students blogging in countries including Argentina, Venezuela, and Slovenia. The project utilizes tagging and social networking to make it possible for students to locate each other's blogs and then interact with each other. Teachers on the project will report their experiences and those of their students using this system.

The participants will be shown a way of using the e-learning platform Moodle and the collaborative work environment Spip together with the various tools they offer for the teaching of the foreign daily culture and the target language.
